I am Chris Akers better know as Cakers. I grew up in a family that did most of our own projects around the house. This gave me a good base to start my wood working journey. My father also was an artist as a side hustle. He created some amazing wood carvings with hand tools and even some power carving. I have always wanted to do wood working but I never took the time. Then one day my life changed. My company decided to out source my job and I had some down time between jobs. I got to spend time exploring my interests.

I spent some time building some wood working projects for my family. I found woodworking as an escape. It was a place where I could relax and focus on things outside of the day to day. So I invested my time and money into my new hobby. It has become an addiction but in a good way. Now I am turning it into a side hustle to share my art with others and the whole family is getting involved!
